Directions

  2. The address is: Cook's Cottage, 7 Uppingham Road, Gunthorpe, Oakham, Rutland, LE15 8BE
  3. You will approach on the A6003 from either the Oakham (North) or Uppingham (south) direction.
  4. When you reach the Gunthorpe village sign, prepare to take a right (Oakham direction) or left (Uppingham direction), onto a drive between two bungalows
  5. Bear right through a metal gate (if gate is closed, press the "Cook's Cottage" button - the bottom button of the TOP Panel, if there are no labels - or call me) and follow to farmyard (orange line on map). Drive through to parking area and park (area designated in pink on the map.)
  6. Walk to Cook's Cottage - followred line on map, down the side of hedge through field, and through metal gate (please take care to securely fasten gate behind you)
  7. Follow path and turn left to reach Cook's Cottage

We're hoping for live music throughout, depending on how many musicians show up.

For those of you who are staying in hotels, there will be a dedicated local driver (Charlie) who will pick you up and take you home on-demand as taxis on a Saturday night in Oakham can be very hit & miss. Please let me know your rough arrival times so I can coordinate this.

For those of you staying in Melton Mowbray, trains run from Melton Station, opposite the Harboro Hotel, every 34 mins past the hour. It's an eleven minute ride and costs £7.95 for an adult. Pickups available from Oakham Station. There is limited scope for transfer back to Melton as the last train is 21:19


Feel free to bring anything you choose such as booze or dessert (or nothing at all!), but please bear in mind we need a nut & shellfish free day due to allergies.
